To work efficiently you need a very good understanding of InDesign's features (and pitfalls).
And that absolutely would come first!

Thanks B! Very helpful information! I've been using ID since its inception and am always coming up with ideas for scripts, but I have very little programming experience. Perhaps as I learn, I'll keep a record and possibly help others who follow.
