Why not use Dynamic Link to send to Ae?
This will result in ZERO loss of quality (and is simple to do).
Premiere Pro / Adobe Dynamic Link
You can also use a 'lossless' DI (Digital Intermediate).
Lagarith Lossless Video Codec (pc only)
Ut Video Codec Suite (pc or mac / lossless)
Avid Codecs 2.3.7 - DNxHD (pc or mac) / 'virtually lossless'
All you need to know about encoding DNxHD by Fuzzy Barsik:
Replace clip with AE composition. No render needed.
Thanks guys, I'm attempting to try Dynamic Link, I'm obviously being completely dumb here.....I'm in AE and goto Dynamic Link>Import Premiere Pro sequence, select the squence......and nothing happens in AE.
Select the clip(s) in your Premiere Timeline,
right-click and select "Replace with After Effects Composition".
This will create a new Ae Project + composition, populate it
with your selected clips, and replace the original clips in your
Premiere Timeline with a Dynamically Linked Ae composition.
Sorry forget that last post making some progress now
Thanks Joe, I'm cooking with gas now as they say...what a great feature can't believe I've never noticed it before.
You can also directly import an Ae composition into Premiere
and retain the Dynamic Linking by:
File > Adobe Dynamic Link > Import After Effects Composition...
