I've been meaning to ask this for a while now. Running Premiere Pro 6.0.5 If you drag an AVCHD 1920 x 1080i25 (50i) clip to the new items icon, it makes a new sequence BUT in AVC-intra 100 format. Why? This is a Panasonic format and the AVCHD files come from a Sony camcorder.
If you manually open a new sequence for AVCHD 1080i (any of the 4 options shown), 3 of the audio tracks default to 5.1 audio and cant be used with normal stereo audio files from the camcorder. Again Why? Yes I know you can delete them and replace then with "normal" audio tracks. But again why?
Some AVCHD cameras record stereo, some record 5.1, so Adobe made the presets with both.
OK. I've not come across any of these.
