I have Flash Player 10.1.52.14 on my Mac, and I’m running OS 10.8.4. I downloaded Flash Player 11.6.602.167 from the Adobe site and installed it. I also ran the uninstaller from Adobe to get rid of previous versions.
Result: I still have Flash Player 10.1.52.14 installed, and Flash Player 11.6.602.167 is nowhere to be found, exactly the opposite of what I want. In other words, neither the installer of Flash Player 11.6.602.167 nor the uninstaller of Flash Player 10.1.52.14 appears to have worked.
Anybody know what’s going on with this?
Thank you for the response, and I followed it to the letter.
It didn’t seem to work, though. If I do a Spotlight search for Flash Player, all I get is the old version 10.1.52.14 (which I guess I am going to have to dynamite to get rid of. No uninstaller seems to do anything to it).
In my Spotlight search, there doesn’t appear to be any sign of version 11.8.800.168, which is presumably the one I just installed.
In other words, same result as before.
This is a bit discouraging. I really didn’t expect a simple upgrade to be an all-day job.
