Which OS and version of Animate are you using?
i use windows 7,64 bit and Edge Animate CC, the latest version.
I think i found the problem tonight.. i´ve downloaded the giraffic_video_accelerator and now it works...
i think the start screen couln´t start how it has to be because this player wasn´t installed?!
thanks for your answer
I have the same problem. I tried installing it on 2 different computers win 7 b64bit, same thing. Then I installed it at my office and it worked there. The difference is that computer is on win 7 32bit. Still Edge animate should work on 64 bit as well.
Any solutions found for this problem?
I am trying to install it on my laptop now.
If I can't find a solution I will try to format my PC and reinstall from scratch.
I will post the results.
I have a 64 bit machine on Win7 and have been using Animate successfully. What type of problems are you experiencing?
I installed animate on my laptop and it is working fine. When I open animate on my desktop pc I get a white page with a 'not found' error. (url requested not found).
I tried to uninstall all adobe software and reinstall but it still doesn't work.
I am using animate on my laptop for now.
I have exactly the same problem here Win 7 64-bit. Installed and Uninstalled several times with no luck. I feel like it's looking in the wrong place for the support files (welcome screen etc.) but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to change this. I can sort of get into the program by going File > New, but then doing anything crashes it.
Anyone found a solution to this?
By the Way the Giraffic thing doesn't work and now I have some piece of junk (or worse) on my system I can't uninstall.
A work around for this is to open an already made composition and save it as in your prefered folder. - open the Animate composition from your file browser (right click on windows explorer - not sure on Mac).
Thanks for the idea Redesign but I had already tried that by trying to open
a template file. Weirdly I get another Not Found error with the file path
"not found on this server". The file path starts "_DRIVE_C_EVIRD_/..." on
all these errors when it should presumably be just C:/ (my drive isn't
called anything odd).
have you tried to open something that is not a template? If you do not have one I can just give you the link of one of my samples.
I might be using the word "template" loosely. I actually used this Adobe
tried to open the .an file. But would be interested to have a go with one
of your projects if it's not a hassle. I'm interested to see any samples of
Edge Animate really!
Try to open the HTML file instead of the an file.
I do not have access to my files at the moment but you can download an example from edgeHero at http://www.edgehero.com/tutorials/scope
Hope it works this time.
I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Adobe Tech today. The steps he took:
Reinstalled Creative Cloud
Ran Adobe Cleaner
Reinstalled Edge Animate
Cleared my Temp and Prefetch folders (I had a lot there)
None of this worked and the problem has been escalated... however.... after
I got off the phone I uninstalled the Giraffic program mentioned in this
thread and everything now works!
So if anyone else gets this problem my feeling is that probably having too
much data in my Temp and/or Prefetch folder caused the problem, but the
Giraffic thing also contributed. For me I only installed Giraffic to try
and solve the problem so it didn't cause it, but it did prevent other
maintenance steps from working.
If Adobe reads this I don't need an escalation anymore!

Thanks for your ideas Resdesign but I had tried the html also. Please see
message I just posted - problem now solved. Now all I have to do is learn
how to use the program!
Awesome! Glad you got it working now. Have fun and check out my tutorials in edgeHero. I have several blogs there too.
Well I am happy to say it works for me too. After I UNINSTALLED Giraffic my Edge Animate works fine on my desktop too
Thanks all for the support.
Have a great day and keep on being creative.
Damn, im sorry, that Giraffic crashes ur Edge..
In my case it was reverse. I tried everthing, i ve uninstalled Adobe Cloud, and Edge and evertime the same Error. Then i copied the Error-Code and googled it, and so i came to the Giraffic-Tool.. i installed it and now it works fine.
What is this Giraffic program folks are referencing?
Giraffic is a video accelerator you might need to download and install to be able to view video online in HD.
Thanks DJOliver for clarifiyng.
Hi All ,
We have addressed the port conflict issue. The new Edge Animate CC 2014 updater(2014.0.1) is now available on Creative Cloud. Please install the build and do let us know if your issue has been addressed.
