    Forms

    trycold
      Hi,

I have to work on a project with workflows and lot of forms. Just wanted to get some tips on what would be the best way to move forms from one point to another. I have some forms as an attachments and some electronic forms. Does any body know any links to any workflow engine so that i can get an idea or maybe some suggestions.

      Thanks

I am completely fed up with the adobe forms engine but I have looked for a better product.  We have forms created from Word tables that require users to check a box.  Every single cell with lines around it gets a form field.  As a result there are thousands of stupid little boxes that need to be deleted.

Is there no way of controlling the position of the forms in the forms engine?  Why does each field need a unique name?  I want to call all the fields M for Mandatory.

Does anyone other than adobe make a better product?  Please tell me if there is a better forms engine available.  Thanks.

It seems to me, that you're talking about Adobe Acrobat, if that's the case

you're probably in the wrong forum.

What is the correct forum for this?  This forum was about forms.

Word.  Then what I did is use the pdf forms generator.

In Word, that's probably an add-in, verify the name of the Add-in. I've never heard of it.

You misunderstand.  We generate our forms in Word as a table.  We print to pdf.

We then use adobe's forms wizard that scans the pdf to find where it should put form fields.  The wizard is completely stupid as it puts form fields in at every cell whether there is data to be entered or not.  It takes 10 seconds to run the wizard and 3 hours to delete all the form fields that the stupid program puts in at every cell.  The field properties cannot be set globally.  The wizard editor grinds the computer to a halt.  It is a terrible piece of crap from adobe who normally produces good software.

Neither Bluebeam nor anyone else has a wizard that will generate the fields automatically.

                      HELP!!!

I see, yep definitively an Acrobat question, go to Adobe Acrobat forums to

                        get a more helpful answer.

Hi, Michael - did you ever find an answer.  I am getting to feel like you. I do not like Adobe LiveCycle.  I've got all those little boxes just like you as well as trying to solve a problem of an expanding text field. I would think that is a requirement for most creators, yet it is so difficult with this program!
