I would create your vanishing point gride and save it to a layer. Then I would take the image or file that you want placed on the vanishing point and make a smart object out of it. Then you can duplicate that layer as many times as you need the replace the contents using the smart object replace contents menu item.
Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?
Would Smart Objects not be an option for you in this case?
That's exactly the node of the problem, that's what I want to do but I don't know how.
1 - create a new layer, create a vanishing point grid < I can do that
2 - create a new layer, importing a picture (which is then , a smart object) < I can do that
3 - the missing part in your explanation, how to put that object in the grid?? all I know is "select all", copy, then open the layer and vanishing point filter , and paste , then place it ... but it's just copy pasting and if I then, replace the content of my smart object layer it won't replace it in the grid !
Is simply transforming the Smart Object not enough in this case?
Could you please post a screenshot of the image?
Well I know I could do that , it's just a pain to transform to find the correct angle, correct focal and keep the right ratio. The Vanishing point filter is doing that in four clics on the 4 corners of the plane ..that was instant transform and very handy, which is why I wanted to do that, but I guess I'll go the long way. thx anyway.
no screen, a pain, I'm posting with another comp, the one i'm workin on doesn't have internet or net access to the other, nvm.
If you want to be able to change the image, you will have to use the Smart Objects. To help transform it, you can use the vanishing point and paste the image into it, then use that as a guide for transforming the smart object layer. Yes, it's extra work, but if you are planning on changing the image in the smart object, it's well worth the time.
