Can't print pdfs created in InDesign

We've created multiple pdf files from InDesign and have been having problems printing them.  I'm pretty sure the issue is with the font type that was used in the pdf file (Lato).  We recently sent the same pdfs out to a 3rd party and they are having problems printing.

The pdf files print fine from Preview on a Mac.

On Win7, 64-bit, they print out of the chrome browser, but not Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat.(on X and XI).  If I go to advanced properties and select "Print as an Image", it will print.

The document properties list the Fonts as "Embedded Subset".

To verify if it's a font issue, is the only option to redo one of the problem documents in a different font or is there another option?
