Why don't you change the clip name?
Welcome to the forum.
One way would be to Rename that second Clip 138, say to 138_01, or something that you will recognize as being a different file.
Forgive my ignorance, but where and how do I rename? On the movie camera? The old file in the Elements list? I don't get anything highlighted in the top bar of the iMac that would enable me to do anything with the file. I can't even trash it. Thanks for any further advice.
On a Mac's Finder, you just slowly double-click on the file to rename it.
Only an Elements Windows person here. But, from what I have read, the following is how you change a file name when you are using a Mac computer.
See if it works for you.
In Finder, open the folder where you know your file is.
Find the icon for the file.
Click once on the file icon to select it, and hit Enter which should make the text editable.
Make sure you are changing the file name and not the file extension.
Hope that works for you.
Add On....granny marya, I did not see SG's post about renaming a file in Mac until after I posted mine. He has a Mac. I found about 2 or 3 online articles that were the basis for my suggestion.
