    Cant drag

      I am using premiere 7. I have been working without any hiccups for a time now but today out of the blue I can no longer drag anything into the workspace or move anything within the workspace around. Is this something simple or a more serious glitch?

            -Premiere pro 7. (I am unsure as to what update but I suspect its the most recent as I subscribe monthly to use the product)

            -Just installed updates since I read your message (no change on that front..did not restart the computer though). By the way if I restart the computer everything works again fine for about 5 minutes)

            -Windows 7 (Home Premium Edition)

            -The last thing I had been working on was importing and adding audio/music to the piece

            -It had been working fine for the past two months

            - I have no other software running or third party codecs installed

            - I have no third PArty I/O hardware installed

             

            Computer specs: Asus X54C

                                         6GB RAM

                                         64 bit operating system

                                         Intel (R) Core (TM) i3- 2350M CPU@2.30 Ghz

              You could try by starting Premiere up while holding down shift+Alt.

              Then clearing out your Media Cash.

              See if that will help.

                I did as you mentioned and I also moved the location for my scratch disks and (fingers crossed) it seems to have worked.

                  I spoke too soon. This is a problem that happens regardless of which project I open up

                      One final question;I have been working on a big project; If I re install can I continue to use those project files again? I cant risk losing them.

                        The uninstall/reinstall of the program, should not affect your Project files, in any way, as they are separate from the program files - however, when I have to perform such operations, I make a backup of my Project(s), just to be safe. Though I have only had to do this operation once, I did not need my backups.

                          Hi geronimofizz,

                           

                          Please try this step and check if it works for you.

                           

                          Click on start

                          Search for CMD run it as an administrator

                          In CMD window type net user administrator /active:y and hit enter.

                          Then type exit and get out of it

                          This will activate hidden admin on your machine.

                          Reboot your machine  and login with that administrator account it will be reflected on you login screen and there will be no password.

                          Try in that admin account and if it works then reboot your machine again come back to your user account and check in it as well.
