I'm an animator new to AfterEffects, and undertaking a Master of Animation at St Joost in Breda, The Netherlands. We are exploring AfterEffects and I want to take advantage of it as much as possible, but am wondering how it fits next to the other software we are also using, TVPaint.
So my question, if you would be so kind, is:
What do you think AfterEffects does best, and what would you use it for rather than TVPaint? What would you do in TVPaint and not in AfterEffects?
I'm looking for specific tasks, such as multiplying animated loops around the screen, keyframing alpha levels, compositing various layers of imported image sequences, or any other tricks you love doing in one software over the other!
Very few people around here probably even use TVPaint, so you can wait a long time for an answer. Seriously! Even I had to look it up, as the only "TVPaint" I remembered was an old Amiga software of that name...
Ya, I imagine most people in this forum use AfterEffects primarily, but I'm hoping to find those who use both.
Never heard of TV paint. Can't find any acquaintances that have ever used it.
