I have downloaded DNG Converter 8.2 so that my PhotoShop Elements 11 will accept RAW files from my new Canon 70D. I can see the file, but am uneducated on many things computer (I'm 76), so I don't know how to replace the old RAW software with the 8.2 in PS Elements 11. Will be much obliged for any help.
DNG converter installation does not replace your "old RAW software", it installs DNG converter (and camera profiles) which is a standalone program that you can use to convert your raw files into dng files... just run the installer and it will do the needful.
After downloading a ".exe" file in Windows, double-click on the ".exe" file to access the file's contents.

1. Exit the DNG Converter.
2. Double-click DNGConverter_8_2.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. The DNG Converter is now available in your Programs directory, and from the Start menu, under Program Files->Adobe->Adobe DNG Converter or All Programs->Adobe->Adobe DNG Converter.
Thanks so much, my friend, that worked just fine. Do I have to convert each RAW file one at a time, naming each of them as I go. Will this be a band-aid until Elements 12 is on the market?
