    "Initilizing Type Engine"

Whenever I try to start After Effects CC, it gets stuck on "Initilizing type engine". This didn't happen on After Effects CS6, and I'm wondering what can be done to fix this. I have about 1,000 extra fonts that don't come with Windows, and if I get rid of them it works just fine. The problem is, without the extra fonts After Effects is pretty much useless to me, and CS6 worked just fine with 7,000+ fonts, so this shouldn't be a problem. Is there any way to make it work? I'm going insane.

It sounds like you have some corrupt fonts in there somewhere. Are you using a font manager? It does not make any sense at all to try to work with thousands of fonts without a font manager. I have no problem with my system even though there are more than 4000 total fonts on the system. Only a few hundred are active at any one time, and with a good manager you can activate the fonts you need without having to restart the program.
