I haven't really seen that happen on the windows versions of photoshop.
Once you saved a named workspace and have it selected as your workspace, your not able to go to Window>Workspace>Reset Workspace to get it back?
Or Window>Workspace and click on the name of your saved workspace?
What operating system are you using?
Yes. Strange. That you say this has happened over multiple versions does make us wonder if you are missing a step. What about your other preferences? Are they surviving a re-launch?
Have a look at the file properties of your Preferences file. Make sure nothing weird like it being write protected for instance. See what the date modified is. Save a new workspace and look again. (I don’t know if Preferences is saved in real time or when PS is closed)
Windows 7 and yes, I did many times try to use the reset option. Unfortunately, that restores only some parts of the saved workspace, never the whole lot, making it neccessary, to create again and again a complete new workspace. This also applies to all earlier versions of photoshop and windows used.Ta Hans
That's not normal behavior. When you make a new workspace and save it Photoshop will use that workspace next time you start Photoshop. If you make changes say move a panel or whatever Photoshop remembers this as a modified workspace and will use this modified workspace. If however you Reset the workspace Photoshop should revert to the (original) saved workspace.
This has been the case as long as I can remember. If that's not wat you are seeing then there is something wrong. Maybe resetting the preferences could help.
