    InDesign CS7 ???

    muserain

I received an InDesign file from my client. I have the latest InDesign on my Mac, updated this morning from the cloud, CS6, v8.0.1. When I tried to open the file, I got an InDesign error message that read:

      [InDesign logo]

      Cannot open.

"Name of file.indd" because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign (CS7.1).

You must use that version or later to open the file.

To then enable it to be opened in this version, choose Save As Indesign CS4 or later, or export to IDML.

At first I thought it was a PC InDesign file, but the latest PC version is CS6 according to the Adobe site.

Anyone else run into this??? CS 7.1???

      Thanks

You may not be running the InDesign 9.1 update. To check if you're running InDesign 9.1 do Help > About InDesign from within ID. If you're not seeing the update, quit Creative Cloud desktop app, then relaunch CC desktop app and then the update will reflect. Once updated, try to open the file you received.

You are still using CS6. You need to download and install InDesign CC

            from Creative Cloud.

Go to creative.adobe.com and sign in with your Adobe ID. Click on

download center and scroll down to InDesign.
