1. Re: Can you make a folio size of 1000 x 750 for iPad?
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 24, 2013 10:33 PM (in response to MABury)No, you can't. The iOS viewer will only open 1024x768 or 2048x1536 folios (well, there's two other sizes that work, but that's really for Woodwing users and they are only a few pixels different).
Trying to get an exact screen size match for Android devices is an awful lot of work for very little benefit. There are simply too many different Android sizes. Instead you can take advantage of the feature in R28 on Android where we will scale folios up as well as down to fit the Android screen. Then one version, published as PDF for Android, can scale quite nicely for all the different screen sizes there. You could even use your iPad 2 folio for this, assuming you don't have any Apple-specific content.

2. Re: Can you make a folio size of 1000 x 750 for iPad?
MABury Sep 25, 2013 6:10 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Yes Android is an issue but so is v28 for our subscribers. We have almost 20% using iPad 1, so upgrading in the middle of an annual subscription isn't an option at this time. We were trying to make as few folios as possible using a 4:3 aspect ration to meet the need of our Android users. I think I will just have to make 4 folios for now. However, using sidecar.xml for the meta data has saved me a lot of time. If you have any info on how we can move forward with v28 sooner I would appreciate the feedback.
Thanks

3. Re: Can you make a folio size of 1000 x 750 for iPad?
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 25, 2013 7:54 AM (in response to MABury)Just to be clear, the only place you need v28 is for your Android AIR viewer. You can leave your iOS viewers as they are, and you can continue to publish your folios with a target version earlier than v28 so they work on iPad 1 devices. It's just the Android viewer that has to be v28.

4. Re: Can you make a folio size of 1000 x 750 for iPad?
MABury Sep 25, 2013 8:05 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)True. Thanks : ) What folio size would you recommend for an Androi? If I create a folio to fit a Kindle FIre HD will that download sucessfully on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 or do I need to still create mulitple folios or a SD and HD version and if so what size? We were having issues with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 users because of their tool bar, it wouldn't download the 1024x768 so it downloaded the 800x600 and was super small.

5. Re: Can you make a folio size of 1000 x 750 for iPad?
Neil Enns - Adobe Sep 25, 2013 8:18 AM (in response to MABury)Now that we support scaling folios up on Android you can generally get by with just one size and publishing as PDF folios. I suggest picking a medium size, something around 1024x768, so you get good performance on low-end devices, but don't compromize too much on quality for the bigger, fancier, devices.

6. Re: Can you make a folio size of 1000 x 750 for iPad?
MABury Sep 25, 2013 8:23 AM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)We were thinking of using 1000x750. Thank you so much for all this info. I will probably have many more questions in the near future.
