i have an i mac o/s 10.5 -safari browser 5.0.

i have an i mac o/s 10.5 -safari 5.0.6 that won't install newest version of flash player. i've downloaded version 11.7.700.225 from archives but when i attempt to install i get a "quit unexpectedly" message and am told to relaunch whitch quits again  etc........

That's the bad news.
Your OS is fast becoming obsolete.
That's the worse news.

IF your iMac is an Intel machine, there IS some good news.

You can get OS 10.6 from Apple for $19.99

If it's a PowerPC (G5 or older) I'm afraid you're out of luck. Not only is your OS nearly obsolete, so is your Mac.

Flash Player 10.3.183.90 is the last version to support OS X 10.5.  You can download the installer from here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html.
