1. Re: Adobe PS CC 14.1.2 update after problem
SG... Sep 25, 2013 10:41 PM (in response to Max-E)Hi,
Is Photoshop launching after you dismiss that dialog? Can you provide more system details (OS, Video Card, etc.)?
Also, do you have any 3rd party plug-ins installed?
To quickly determine whether Photoshop is loading a problematic optional or third-party plug-ins, do the following:
- Close Photoshop.
Hold down the Shift key and launch Photoshop. A dialog will appear during launch that reads "Skip loading optional and third-party plug-ins?"
Click Yes to skip loading optional and third-party plug-ins.
- Note: This only disables optional and third-party for the current session. If you quit and restart Photoshop without holding down the Shift key, the optional or third-party plug-ins will be enabled.
regards,
steve

He was repetedly getting issues with updates, no problem since he switched to the default program files folder.

SG... Sep 26, 2013 10:44 AM (in response to Max-E)Hi Max,
Can you try this Windows link:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/windows_file_and_folder_diag
The error is showing that something went wrong with a .dll.
If that doesn't help, then you'll need to uninstall, reinstall, then update to 14.1.2 to get past this, I think.

steve

9. Re: Adobe PS CC 14.1.2 update after problem
SG... Sep 26, 2013 4:26 PM (in response to Max-E)Hi Max,
Unfortunately, I don't know of any other options.
Please note that if you uncheck the 'Remove Preferences' at uninstall to keep the existing preferences, make sure to not launch the 14.0 application after installing. Go straight from installing 14.0 to updating to 14.1.2 via the Creative Cloud desktop application.
Sorry for the trouble.
regards,
steve

12. Re: Adobe PS CC 14.1.2 update after problem
JanSjogren Sep 27, 2013 6:14 AM (in response to SG...)Hello.
It is not really clear exactly what steps were taken. As far as I understand Max uninstalled PS, reinstalled, then tried to update and failed with the same problem. Then you are saying he succeeded by restarting his machine and running the update. I do not get the option of running the update again after failing. My CC says PS is up to date, even though the 64-bit version is broken and failed to update. Is there any way of telling CC to check for file integrity and redownload only what is missing?

13. Re: Adobe PS CC 14.1.2 update after problem
Ashutosh.Nigam Sep 27, 2013 6:52 AM (in response to JanSjogren)This seems a case of bad install, as only 32 bit is updated. Please re-intall PS CC and then apply updates.
Updates usually fail when the file which are required for patching are missing or corrupt.
Regards,
Ashutosh

14. Re: Adobe PS CC 14.1.2 update after problem
01af Sep 27, 2013 1:13 PM (in response to Max-E)I have a similar, albeit less severe problem. I updated from Photoshop 14.0 directly to Photoshop 14.1.2 on my laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit). The update went smoothly but at the very end it said, "Update finished with error, Error code = U44M1P6". Some help text said something to the effect of, "Please repeat the update; if it still fails then contact customer support."
Still, when starting Photoshop now, it will come up and run happily. The "About Photoshop ..." box will say, 14.1.2 (x64). It's as if the error message at the end of the update process was just a bad joke. Do I need to be worried?

15. Re: Adobe PS CC 14.1.2 update after problem
JanSjogren Sep 28, 2013 6:23 AM (in response to Ashutosh.Nigam)Just for the record, I uninstalled Photoshop, downloaded it again, and let the updater run without starting Photoshop in between. The update applied fine. Maybe it was just a corrupted update download the first time, I don't know. Now it's working.
