    LR 5 not opening catalogs

      Yesterday I was able to open and update my LR 4 catalogs. Today it will not open any catalog. The screen flashes quickly (faint image of a box appears and disappears to fast to see anything) and all I see is the upper left corner:

       

      Lightroom  File  Edit  Window  Help

       

       

      I am a long-time LR user. Just went to CC for PS and LR5. Never seen this happen before.

       

      Thought I might re-install LR but CC says it's up to date and there is no way to do it. Also don't see a way to un-install LR.

          Please let us know whether you are using Windows or Mac. Please refer the kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html and try installing again.

            Hi Romit,

             

            I'm using Mac 10.8.4.

             

            Tried to uninstall/re-install following Solution 1 shown at your link above, but the folder only has a "Lightroom 5.2" file which appears to be an installer, not an UNinstaller. Maybe that is a typo.

             

            So I tried running the Lighroom 5.2 file anyway, and it says Adobe Application Manager is damaged and needs to be replaced. This is where I stopped.

             

            Here are the contents of the folder:

             

            file://localhost/Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Adobe CMM

            file://localhost/Applications/Utilities/Adobe%20Installers/Lightroom%205.2

            file://localhost/Applications/Utilities/Adobe%20Installers/Uninstall%20Adobe%20Creative%20Cloud/

            Something isn't right. Please clarify.

              I think the application manager is missing on your machine. Please download CC desktop from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud and try to uninstall again.
