OK. I think we all know about additive coloring here. I noticed, however, that when I overlapped semi-transparent shapes of different colors, a subtractive effect appears to be going on...
Is it possible to change the option (for a group of particular shapes at least) to make it additive coloring? It would make creating the effect of spotlight of different colors converging so much easier! (As opposed to having to create a shape to block out the overlapping "beams of colored light" shapes with the right color from additive, have Flash automatically do it for me?
if your objects are movieclips you can use their blendmode to determine how they interact with over or underlying objects.
Thanks for the tip on blendmodes!
WIth "lighten" (and adequately dark enough backgrounds) I'm now able to create the additive effect of lighting!
