how do I know when a driver update will actually be advantageous and when it will stop the system from working??
You install it and observe the results.
Sounds snarky, I know, but that really is the only way to know.
I guess my main point was that I took care to get a compatible graphics card - so I was quite dismayed to find that when I updated the driver, the card suddenly was not compatible any more!
A driver shouldn't change the card's 'compatibility' with regard to turning GPU acceleration on or off.
But it could very well cause errors with GPU acceleration turned on that require you to turn it off for things to work right.
I have the same issue with the same card after the latest update
I have the same issue with the same card ... and it's six months later. Actually ... sometimes PP recognizes it and sometimes it doesn't.
Adobe ! ! ! !
