Sounds like it could be a permissions problem, but first, have you installed the 8.0.2 patch?
thank you for your fast responce.
yes its fully updated.
the user that works on that mac (sorry for not mentioning) is not admin. do you think that this matters?

It might. The 8.0.2 patch waws only released yesterday, and it has some fixes for non-admin accounts, so are you SURE you're up to date?
You were right for the updates, BUT...(i hate buts) it didnt solve my issues.
Still same problem when trying to save.
shall i try deleting the prefs files again?
thing is that before the genuine install we had a trial and there were no essues.
those problems appeared after deleting the trial and installing the cs6 design & web premium.
Changing where you save doesn't help?
How about if you create a new user on that system and test with that?
Just had the time to do what you suggested,
created a new non-admin user,
copyed from my shared to my desktop a .idd file,
opened it, made a few changes, command+S, and....... same o, same o.
im out of ideas.
thank you very much for your help peter.
Well, at least that tells us the problem is not user-related, which means it's most likely a conflict with other software.
Any third party plugins for ID (including a font manager)? Those are the first suspects. If not, can you save if you boot into "safe" mode by holding down the Shift key while you boot to trun off extensions and other startup programs?
Hellow again peter.
all mac computers are formated with fresh mac os X 10.6.8. No plugins just office 2011. im convinced that its a indesign issue, no big deal but slows down the users.
thanks again for your time.
Got to be something you're running. Font manager, utility, imaging software... or maybe network glitch. It's NOT normal behavior for CS6, and if there were a bug it would be all over the forum by now.
