Can I composite 2D footage (keyed person for example) into a hand held, forward tracking shot using camera tracker in AE (much the 3D text)? Or is it best to use another plug in or program?
I have included a picture. It is the small person standing on the table which I want to apply 3D camera tracker data to. 'He' is a keyed out video layer.
I can get away with using motion tracker for now, but in future I want to use more complex shots, which would perhaps track through the room, handheld, and it would be good if I could apply camera tracker data to the keyed subject so that they stick to the table and maintain 3D perspective as the camera goes past.
Make your keyed layer a 3d layer and you should be able to integrate it into the shot. Look at the help files for the camera tracker though. There are a few gotchas you'll need to be aware of (plus it's got quite a few good tips and tricks.)
Thanks. I will read the suggested tips. But the layer does seem to disappear when enabled as a 3D layer. I thought it may be impossible to make a 2D image into a 3D layer?
