i wanted to ask, if a GeForce GT 640M with 512MB GDDR5 is enough for using After Effects CS6 (on Mac).
Or is that graphic card too bad for working with After Effects (and other Adobe Products).
Because I want to buy a Mac with 8GB RAM and 2,7(up to 3,2) GHz QuadCore i5. Is that okay, or is the hardware too weak?
Thank you for your help.
That graphics card is adequate for the OpenGL features of After Effects, but not for the CUDA acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. which requires 1GB of VRAM. Details: http://bit.ly/AE_CUDA_OpenGL_GPU
It's also not adequate for the GPU features of Premiere Pro or Photoshop.
See this page for information about hardware for Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects: http://adobe.ly/pRYOuk
