1. Re: Adobe Content Viewer not installed on V28
Bob Bringhurst - Adobe Oct 1, 2013 2:15 PM (in response to Bexigallio)You pasted the steps to manually install the Adobe Content Viewer for the Desktop. Why can't you double-click "Install Adobe Content Viewer.app"? That should manually install the desktop viewer. You shouldn't need to uninstall InDesign or do anything else.

2. Re: Adobe Content Viewer not installed on V28
Bexigallio Oct 1, 2013 2:52 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst - Adobe)I did, it came up with the following error message.
"Sorry an error has occurred.
This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance"
I have unistalled InDesign using the uninstaller in the Utilities folder, I have reinstalled InDesign CS6, and updated the DPS tools, and I'm still in the same situation

Neil Enns - Adobe Oct 1, 2013 9:20 PM (in response to Bexigallio)Have you tried installing the desktop viewer using the app installed for CC? You can find it at /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Installers/AdobeDigitalPublishingCSCC/ContentViewer. (I'm pretty sure that's the path, if it isn't exactly that look in your Adobe/Installers folder for the one that is for Creative Cloud).

4. Re: Adobe Content Viewer not installed on V28
Bexigallio Oct 2, 2013 5:21 PM (in response to Neil Enns - Adobe)Thanks Neil, that worked once I'd installed it directly into the Applications folder, not within a subfolder.
So if anyone else has this issue, install the Desktop Viewer app for CC and it works for both CS6 and CC.
NOTE, that you need to double-click the Install Adobe Content Viewer.app file, don't look for a file called Install Adobe Content Viewer.air as per the instructions, as they are out of date.
Phew, I have finally got all my DPS functionality back, and have created a V27 app using V28.
