reformatting type within many tables?

I am trying to import tables from "Catalog Builder" (not a great program BTW). The formatting is totally screwed up and I would like to have the first row AND first column bold. This is proving to be a painstaking one table at a time job and I have hundreds of tables to fix. I am looking for table formatting that includes paragraph styles. Anyone tried anything like this? Or am I just missing something? I am using CS6 and Windows7

Set up your paragraph styles
Set up you cell styles, include in step 1 created paragaph styles
Set up table styles, use in step 2 created cell styles
Select the table, all cells, apply no styles by holding alt key
Apply table style to the table.
