If I already have a recent version of Flash Player installed, but am installing on multiple computers, I usually just download the installer from adobe's website. Normally, I use the built in uninstaller app in the Utilities folder to uninstall uninstall the installed version, but do I have to? Can I just run the new downloaded installer and not worry about uninstalling (assuming I was having no issues).
PS I know there is a built in updater in system prefs, but since I install on multiple macs, it's just easier to download the install and take to each computer.
Normally there is no need to uninstall earlier versions; they should automatically get uninstalled during the new version install.
However, sometimes the old plugin gets not completely removed, which leads to a "blocked plugin" message. In view of this, perhaps it is safest to run the uninstaller first.
