I've designed some documents in InDesign 5 (on Windows 7). The printer has got back to me to say that he has to cut them 'by hand' and needs crosshairs instead of the usual crop marks. I've read David Blatner's PDF on creating a .mrk file and have created one and tried to load it in a few different places on my system but can't get it to show up in InDesign. Does anyone know exactly where to place the file and do I need to create the PrintSpt folder he talks about, or should it be there already?
If anyone knows of the file path it would be a great help. Thanks.
Can't help with locating the .mrk file, but I can tell you I've hand cut many a sheet that uses standard marks. The trick is to not cut all the way to the edge (you use a razor and straight edge for this) so you don't cut off the marks.
