I'm sure there are others much more savvy on color than I am, but I've had this issue - mainly on computers where I don't have admin rights and where the color profile of the computer is bad or doesn't match the monitor. First check you color profiles and make sure you have something selected like AdobeRGB for the RGB space. A monitor calibrator such as one from Spyder or Xrite should take care of this problem. For a quick, but not great fix, Go to View>Proof Setup and select Monitor RGB. Then select View>Proof Colors. This is by no means ideal, but it will get rid of the red cast - it's always red - until you can get a monitor calibrator.
I would like to hear someone's suggestion, who knows this stuff better than I do.
Thank you very much!
finally everything works fine. the problem was actually windows, not ps! for some reason a faulty color space profile made by asus was set as default; i switched it with sRGB, restarted photoshop and finally the problem was solved!
