1. Re: How do I uninstall Photoshop Elements 8?
hatstead Oct 8, 2013 1:14 PM (in response to DdunnLytle)If you google Error 1316 A you will get several hits, and you can downoad a repair tool.
I have PSEv.8 open.. In Editor, go to Help menu and scroll down to deactivate.
Perhaps Error 1316 A and the dysfunctional PSE 12 organizer are related.

Have you got your original CDs and serial number? I assume you bought the boxed version from some big stores like Amazon.

jimbateman1100 Dec 2, 2014 7:22 PM (in response to mytaxsite.co.uk)Yes I have the CD and product key. I tried to reinstall the software
but it first tries to remove the existing software and cannot do it. I
assume that is because it is not deactivated, based on codes I get when
I try to uninstall. I cannot deactivate because that command is
available only from the edit menu and my edit menu is dead.

mytaxsite.co.uk Dec 2, 2014 7:40 PM (in response to jimbateman1100)If you are using a Windows system then try uninstalling from the Control
Panel. when you do this, make sure your internet is available because
sometimes the product will try to deactivate itself when you uninstall
it. this was certainly the case with PSE 10 and 11
