I am having problems with text created inside the Titler appearing much softer than I would like after transcode to DVD compliant m2v. It's a short programme so it's not a transcode rate problem (i am at 8 Mbps). The video itself looks good and sharp.
It's originally a 1920x1080i project (25 fps) and I'm transcoding interlaced. Progressive seems to improve the sharpness of the text slightly (not as much as I would have liked), but is not ideal for the video (would prefer to keep interlaced).
Any ideas please?
Here is a still of the text direct from Premiere before, and after transcode.

You do understand that a DVD is "about" 1/4 the resolution of your HiDef original?

Thanks, yes I do realise that! I feel I have achieved better results on previous occasions, but perhaps not, as the text was secondary to the video, so perhaps didn't pay as much attention to the text clarity.
If you have the time and inclination to experiment, try building the same graphic in a DVD-sized video timeline that does not require scaling down to fit into the DVD standard frame. Then burn a test DVD that includes both sources.
