Netcommercial Oct 12, 2013 3:41 PM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)That is for C.C. 12.0 +
I am on CS6 11.02....
Let me clarify. I want to use one of the 3D objects from AI and import into AE. Will that page of info, full of numerious links work in my situation? If so I will watch them all. I do See 4d importer in AE. As referenced in my Class on Demand Final Project Chris M from Chrish design, went over the Plugin breifly (where to find and where to park it, I did) Other then that?
Thanks

3. Re: Any cheat on bringing in an object for 3d with AE?
Rick Gerard Oct 12, 2013 6:11 PM (in response to Netcommercial)3D objects from illustrator are not 3D. It's just a trick to make it look 3D. They will look 3D in AE but you can't move around them with a camera.
You can make some 3D primitives with the tools included in AE. Cylinder, cube, sphere, but that's about it.
If you want to incorporate actual 3D objects into a version of AE earlier than CC and you don't want to buy a plug-in you can use Blender. It's a very powerful 3D app with tools to bring the 3d work into AE. The learning curve isn't any worse than any other fully featured 3D app but the cost.

Szalam Oct 15, 2013 6:38 AM (in response to Netcommercial)While this is unrelated to the question at hand, you are missing the latest bug-fix update for AE. You should be running 11.0.3 now.
