Transferring Encore to a new computer manually?

    Stevedocmaker Community Member

I need to move Encore to a new Mac Pro manually ( for a reason too complicated to explain, I can not use the Migration assistant). The I've copied the program file and preferences, but when I launch Encore on the new machine I get the following message:

"Adobe Encore CS6 cannot run in trial mode. Please relaunch the application and provide a valid serial number."

But this comes up on launch, there seems to be no way to enter the serial number.

Any ideas?  There does not seem to be anything in the Application Support folder (user/library) for Encore on the old machine, btw.

While I don't know macs, I assume this part is the same as for PCs. Adobe puts a lot of effort into preventing piracy, and like many programs on today's computers, they cannot just be copied from one machine to another. Encore must installed on each machine the same way it was installed on the first.

Also, most settings for Encore are carried with the project, so there are not as many preferences to transfer.

In many Adobe programs, customization/preferences can be copied.

You get this message when you are running Premiere in trial mode and trying to open Encore. Encore does not have a trial mode.

When entering a serial to Premiere, Encore comes available.

On windows you cannot just copy and paste programs.

Programms need to be installed into the OS

I am guessing its no different on a mac.
