There is a a logo I have as an illustrator file that I would like to use the shape of and import a photo into InDesign. Is there a way to do that without redrawing it? Thanks!
If i understand you want to place AI as a shape not as image,.
1- On Illustrator preference>File Handling & Clipboard>check on: AICB, Perserve Paths.
2. Select the shape or logo, then copy.
3- On Indesign paste.
Thanks for your reply. If by image you mean something to place another image into than yes. Basically I want this shape to be the equivalent of a a rectangular or elliptical frame that you can import another image into...it's just in this case it's a custom shape. I tried your suggestion, but got the error msg "Illustrator import failed. Scrap contains no visual objects." Any other suggestions? Thanks!
Make sure the outline has a stoke on it. You can turn it off once you
get it into InDesign.
