Leonie15 Oct 23, 2013 9:38 PM (in response to shawninvancouver)I don't understand why you would need to split the box in the first place. You can easily resize a rounded corner box without affecting the corners.

shawninvancouver Oct 24, 2013 8:52 AM (in response to Leonie15)I am a bit out of practice with InDesign but this is easily done? Please tell me how because if I can eliminate the need to split this box, that would be a huge improvement.
I know that if I use the Direct Selection Tool, select only the points on the bottom part of this box, then select any of these point and drag down... that will stretch the box without affecting the corner radius or anything on the top end of the box.
The problem with that is that I find it nearly impossible to stretch out the box perfectly vecticle. I am always ending up with a slight skew to the left or right.
Ah, never mind. Instead of dragging, all I need to do is type in a desired y coordinate value and press Enter.
Thanks for setting me in the right direction Leonie15.

Leonie15 Oct 24, 2013 2:37 PM (in response to shawninvancouver)Or alternatively you can select the corners with the direct selection tool, then while holding down the shift key, arrow up or down until the desired size is achieved

Peter Spier Oct 24, 2013 2:47 PM (in response to Leonie15)You don't need the direct select tool at all if you've used the corner options command to make the round corners. Just select the frame and resize it by dragging a handle.

You know, I did try that but for some reason it didn't work as described in the instructions. I wonder if it is because this box was not created in InDesign but rather, dragged and dropped in from Illustrator?
Nevertheless, I am very satisfied with how this is working out now.
The only caveat is that if I ever change the box design, I must manually update each one individually.

Peter Spier Oct 25, 2013 4:31 PM (in response to shawninvancouver)You said the round corner frame was created in ID... Was that not really the case?

shawninvancouver Nov 5, 2013 10:43 AM (in response to Peter Spier)Hello Peter,
The entire design was created in Illustrator and then dragged over to ID (which then becomes 'owned' by ID).
Anyhow, like I mentioned, everything is working perfectly.

Peter Spier Nov 5, 2013 10:52 AM (in response to shawninvancouver)Next time do it directly in ID....
