I have a 2 page spread in InDesign. I want an image to go across both pages. For production purposes, must I break that image up into two pieces with half on one page and the other half on the second page? I have noticed that If I run a sigle graphic container across the two pages and then make a PDF, it will make the image into two that goes with the page. Is that something that it does just visually? Or would that work to have that file sent to production?
Putting one image across the spread will work just fine unless there is some reason you need to shuffle the pages or brake the spread apart.
Thanks for your quick repy and help. I was concerned about preparing the pages that way when they are intended to end up in a signature in a publication. The pages of the spread may not end up on the same physical piece of paper.
It's not a problem if you are exporting to PDF.
