I'm trying to deploy Flash Player via SCCM for both ActiveX and Plugin based browsers. I am encountering a situation where if the client previously had the same version of flash player installed, the ActiveX installation fails with error code 1722. I have a script I'm working with that runs the Adobe Flash uninstaller, as well as checks the registry to ensure the "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayer\SafeVersions" key is not present. However, whether running the ActiveX installer via the powershell script or manuallly runnning it, the installation fails to complete. The Plugin based installer (for Firefox, etc.) functions normally and I am able to use Flash Player on those browsers. This only affects my clients below Windows 8, as the ActiveX install component is not being run on those systems.
