Mutiple edge animations on an index page

    MikkelMadsen

      Hey there community

It feels like I have searched google dry, and I can't find the answers to my problems there, so I'm hoping this will help.

I'm creating a site in Dreamweaver with a lot of interactivity, mostly by edge animate. I have many animations on the index page of the site, and some fewer on other pages.

The problem is, every single edge animation is generating an edge_include folder for the files to work, when i insert the oam file.

The first loading time for a user is immense, around 10 sec.... Is there any solutions to remove those similar server request and make them all request from 1 folder with the edge.min and jquery.min file?

Hi, hope I can help you. I´m finishing an interactive book with games and I use 3 project with different scenes on them. So you can try something like my trick. You can use "symbols" to make all your different animations on a single "Edge project" or if you wanna use your actual projects put all your images on a single "image folder" and use one  "edge includes folder".

I have 3 projects on the root folder but just one image folder and one edge includes, each project have their own preload and the time loading is fast on web an mobile device.

            Hi Folks

I have a similar problem and I understand your reply here but I find it a problem of scale. For example I design total web sites in Flash{MX) such as the one here:

            www.theshaa.com

where the index file can load and unload multiple files on layers seamlessly. In this web site there are over 20 files loading and unloading with no undue delay.

I am now given the task of creating the site in HTML for viewing on tablets etc.

I have only produced the first three pages and they have to load independently (as far as my knowledge goes). This is not a seamless process, having to open a new file with it's inherent delay for each page. The user experience and total effect is nowhere near as good as Flash. Html site so far :

            http://www.theshaa.com/htm-site/home/home.html

Or maybe I am missing something here.

Many thx!!! I Will try the folder option. Do I have to open the edgepreload in a text edit program to change some urls? Or Can i just put every script in an edge folder with an image and include folder in that ?:):)

Hmm, I don't know about flash that much, but I tend not to use it because you need to be careful on how google spiders see your site. And I'm not that good with flash>< That is the reason why I Edge Animate. Tested the site with bots and google reads and understand it perfectly. Have you taken search engines in consideration? Hope you will get some nice answers to your problem.

                  Thank you Mikkel

Yes, I understand your reluctance with Flash. There are ways around the SEO problem.

What I was inquiring of Edge, was to find out if there was a way to load / unload files into the timeline to save having users open each link/file independently.

I may be better posting my own query. Thank you.
