shooternz Oct 29, 2013 6:38 PM (in response to lasvideo)US corporations are taking us into a world of hurt via computerisation.
I am going thru a nightmare with one ( a major US client) right now!
I see a bad moon rising in this case also ...and this particular corporation continues along blithely and inefficiently endangering us all by exposing us to the bad guys.

Steven L. Gotz Oct 30, 2013 7:07 AM (in response to shooternz)I don't think it is just US Corporations, but I certainly agree we are heading into a new era of secutiry requirements.
I am fortunate that my credit card company keeps a close eye on my account since we have had problems in the past. I have never had to pay a penny for bad credit card charges, but changing my account number is a major hassle. When we sit down to pay the bills online, we review every charge.
I use a very tough password to crack for all online financial related accounts. Each account gets a different password with only a simple (for me) way to remember each one.I keep a file of hints, but if anyone but me could use those hints I would truly be shocked. My wife can't even do it (and I have explained it to her a few times), so I keep a translation of the hints in our bank's safe deposit box, just in case.
My system allows me to change my passwords and still use the same hints file. It was a tough system to get used to, but it works.
Everyone needs to be more careful than ever before. Passwords need to change often.

Actually, that is not a bad idea at all.
I don't have one specifically for Adobe, but the one I use is specifically for the Internet.

Same here. I use a prepaid card for all Internet/recurring purchases. I keep only the funds I need loaded.

Steven L. Gotz Nov 6, 2013 11:25 PM (in response to Biggles Lamb)Oh, I doubt that the board actually knew that there was a database out there without sufficient protections. They might have, but it seems like a lower level decision that just got overlooked.
Nonetheless, the person who made the decision, and the person or people who overlooked it? See the picture in my last post.

ActionCamStudio Nov 18, 2013 12:26 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)Hallo, i hope that i'll recieve a reply to my question. I'm one of the 150 milions people hacked. I've recived an email and i've changed my password. I use a prepaid card and charge it only with the money i need for the subscription. I've read that Adobe have sent a letter to customers attacked. So here is my question: I'm italian and i never recieve a letter from Adobe. Is there something to do to understand which is the real situation of this attack?
A reply will be really appreciated. Thank you,
Roberto

Bill Hunt Nov 19, 2013 4:10 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)So far, LifeLock keeps finding my old data all over the place, and especially on blackmarket boards. Luckily, the hackers did not get enough on me (that has been found), to cause harm, and then I did two Adobe PW updates, so fingers are X'ed. Glad that someone has my back, at least to some degree.

This is a user to user forum, not Adobe support (the web site is provided by Adobe for users to help each other)
Nobody here will be able to tell you what Adobe is doing about this situation
Adobe contact information - http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html may help

ActionCamStudio Nov 19, 2013 5:50 PM (in response to John T Smith)Yes John, i know that this is a user forum, but yesterday i've read this thread and i was hoping that somebody from Adobe will reply with an update to users affected by this problem. Here in Italy seems that nothing happened, and this is not the truth...Adobe sent to me an email with a generic and a bit vague message: "Reset your password because hackers may have stolen private informations about you"...not really a comfortable message! I will be glad if Adobe will inform users in a public forum or on their official site. I think that will be faster instead of waiting that users contact them. There's no secret here, we all know what happened. Just to be fair...
