What, did you try to download? There have been three various updates for AE recently and they're all very different and for different purposes.
What's your exact version number of After Effects? 11.0.2? 12.0.0? 9.0.2?
My AE is version 12.0 and it does not see the new update. Not in ae itself or from the CC desktop app. It says everything is up to date, which is not true. When I try and manualy instal, that's where i get this error. I really want to figure out why I cannot update my software. I really dont want to have to reinstall anything. I've tried that before but the problem was still there. P[lease anyone help! Thanks.
Same problem here but on Windows:
Creative Cloud desktop says everything is up to date (not true: AE is still 220.127.116.114)
I manually downloaded the windows installer (12.1 - this one: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5683)and ran AdobePatchInstaller and got the same error as above: "update failed"
the "Updates..." menu item is greyed out in the help menu in AE itself...
SO no updates happening here.
Would love to put that mask tracker to use...
Ryan, if the Updates menu item is disabled for you, it is very likely that your software was deployed as part of an enterprise deployment that disabled updates, so you'll need to talk with your IT person about that.
oh bugger, you're right - it was a deployment (embarrassingly made by and forgotten by me of all people) - does this mean we have to re-deploy with updates enabled, etc. (and uninstall first, etc?)
