Tax rounding errors in shopping cart

Our store is set up for Australian GST at 10%.

On the shopping cart management page - adding multiple copies of an item results in rounding errors and adds extra cents to the order total.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Add an item with $25 price (incl. GST)
  • Go to the shopping cart
  • Increase the quantity to 2
  • Price is then displayed as $50.01

We appear to be using the updating tax calculation engine. Is there anything else that we can do to solve this problem?

Go into the Shop rendering settings and change the decimal places to suit.

    Hi Liam,

thanks for your help. In the settings for the shop the "invoice decimal digits" are already set 2. What is the problem here?

We are having the same issue and using Liquid. Works fine until the cart total and payment amount differ by $.01 (USD).  This causes an error that keeps our syncing tool from transferring the sale to our in-store POS system.  Is there a remedy for this?

This is still an issue, emailed Magda about this and was told it is a complex issue, but at this stage they have no plans to fix...pathetic really.
