9. Re: dont want rounded corners on stroke.
mysteria779 Nov 4, 2013 3:36 PM (in response to Jeff Arola)you can see the blakc stroke is rounded and the gray stroke is also rounded. i do not want rounded edges on either. i will be using a blk background overall but used white on this one for illustration purposes.

13. Re: dont want rounded corners on stroke.
mysteria779 Nov 4, 2013 5:40 PM (in response to Ellis home)ok. so now the problem is im using a black background, then doing a single black stroke to creat a small gap then a single gray stroke. unfotrunately when u tell it inside it crops into the picture. any ways to get out of that aside from leaving more edge in the original crop? thx guys/gals.

14. Re: dont want rounded corners on stroke.
MikeGondek Nov 4, 2013 6:02 PM (in response to mysteria779)Forget about the layer effect of stroke. this will either be rounded or have to go inside. I knwo it seems very bad taht Photoshop does tno have optiosn for this, adn we have been asking for a long time.
I did it this way.
- Cropped to edge of image
- create 2 adjusment layers of grey and balck
- image >> image size, increased width and height of pixels and added 10 pixels (this is for my grey border)
- select all make a make on grey layer (this locks in my grey border, so ti does not get bigger in the next step)
- image >> image size >> incrased width and height by 20 pixels (this is for my black border)

15. Re: dont want rounded corners on stroke.
mysteria779 Nov 4, 2013 7:59 PM (in response to MikeGondek)OK. i finally figured out how to do it without cropping into the photo.
create new background.
copy pic to new background.
(i use guides to make sure all is lined up evenly)
take marquee tool and drag across to appropriate guides
edit, stroke, "inside", gray, 10 pixels.
viola!

Ronald Keller Nov 5, 2013 6:27 AM (in response to mysteria779)Much easier to use Canvas Size command to expand the canvas in the desired color.
