Where are these duplicates that you want to delete all at one time from a Premiere Elements 11 project?

          Project Assets

          Expert Workspace Timeline

          Other

There are a couple of scenarios that would make it possible and impossible.

I will go through them based on the details requested.

The duplicates are in the catalog. I can visually see two or three side by side of the same image. I realize I can delete one or more at a time by highlighting and then deleting bukt was checking to see if there was something in the program that would search and then provide the option to delete dupes.

Once the duplicates are found you can delete the ones you don't want.

                Thanks for your good help.

I do have one more Q: When I move from the catalog at some point -let's say some point in middle of the whole catalog- and then go to an album, I find that my return to the catalog takes me to the top of the catalog and then I have to scroll forever to get back to where I left off. I can't see any simple "back" button.

Thanks for the follow up information. I see that nealeh has already given you a great idea for achieving your stated goal.

If you had a series of say 7 duplicates of the first in the row displayed after you hit Duplicate Photos in the screenshot, you would click on the first duplicate, hold down the Shift key, and click on the 7th and last to select them all. Then hit Remove from Catalog at the bottom of the interface.

But, I must ask "How did you get those duplicates into the Elements Organizer in the first place?" Did you change a lot of file names along the way?

I have not found a "back" bottom to get you back to your place in the Elements Organizer (Oldest, Newest) just prior to your detour to an Album.

It is as you say, back in the All Media, you are at the top of the page.

What I did find, not sure how much help it will be, if you stay within the Elements Organizer All Media.....you can select a photo of interest and leave it with blue selection frame around it as you scroll around the Elements Organizer using the Page Down and Page Up of the computer keyboard....effectively retaining your original place as you examine the rest of the Elements Organizer thumbnails.

What sort by are you using: Newest, Oldest, Import Batch?

                    More later.

The only thing I can think of is that my prev computer quit and the tech used the hard drive to transfer photos to new computer. I'd day about 100 or so were dupes.

                      Thanks.

Using Newest. I will also try the highlighting idea.
