1J12 has the Photoshop Elements ever worked on your computer? If the answer is no then I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine any errors you may have received. Please see Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html.
Sorry, I don't think I was clear in my earlier post. I'm referring to Adobe Premiere Elements, the video editing program. The Editor works fine, it's the Organizer that's the problem.
That is fine the same question remains. Did Organizer ever work? If not then you will want to review your installation log files.
If the answer is yes then myself or another moderator can move this discussion to the Premiere Elements forum at http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere_elements.
Organizer never worked. I tried reinstalling it, but the same error came up.
Ok please feel free to respond to this discussion with any specific error messages you are able to locate in your installation log files.
The details of the error message are all in my original post. I think the gist of it is my 'library' is not not compatible with Organizer. I'm not entirely sure what that is. I suspect it's some application with a .dylib extension, but I don't know how to upgrade it.
Moving this discussion to the Premiere Elements forum.
1J12 I would still encourage you to review your installation log files for error messages. You can find details on how to review your log files at Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html.
This has happened to me on Premiere Elements 12 Windows 7 and 8 64 bit.
I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so see if you can translate what worked for me to resolve this issue.
1. Elements Organizer 12. Edit Menu/Preferences/General and click on "Restore Default Settings".
2. Create a new catalog. See File Menu/Manage Catalogs and the Catalog Manager dialog.
Please let us know if either or both of those worked for you.
Ok, I did the manual and automatic inspection of the install log for error messages and no errors came up.
Thanks IJ12 this helps determine that the installation occured succesfully. A.T. Ramano and other contributors in the Premiere Elements should be able to assist with diagnoising what is causing the Oraganizer in Premiere Elements 12 to crash.
