I am trying to download and run the free version of InDesign. It says that it had downloaded, but it doesn't seem to open. I am confused about the difference between the InDesign and the Creative Cloud. How are they related? It is asking me what a[[ I want it to run from, I don't know.
If I get InDesign to work, can I set up a bilingual book. That is, two columns running side by side, but not feeding horizontally? I only want them to attach to the column below them. I have set this up in Quark and am looking at this program. Will it be able to so this?
There is no such thing as a free version of InDesign. Do you mean a trial version?
What platform and version are you running on (MacOS, WIndows?)? What do you mean by “it says?” What is “it” refer to?
It sounds like what you want to do is have effectively two “stories” each in their own column that each link to the same column on the next page.
Yes, I wanted the trail version. And yes again, can I have two "stories" each in it's own column?
If you want two stories running in parallel columns you should create two columns on the master page, and create two text frames, but do not link them to each other. If the document is facing pages, link the text frames for the columns from one side of the master to the other.
