Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately, that procedure doesn't work for me, as those tools already seem to be installed in FB3. I don't get presented with an option to install Java Development Tools.
Hi- Use the Europa Discovery site, not the Eclipse.org update site listed in that article.
So, go to Help > Software Updates > Find and Install > Search for new features > check Europa Discovery Site > Finish, and select Java Development > Eclipse Java Development Tools.
OK, great, that Europa site worked and I have downloaded and installed the Ant tools and they show up under Preferences.
Now how do I tell Flex to use an Ant file to build my project when I am working inside Flex?
I see it has something to do with creating a new Ant Builder under the Builders tab in the Project Properties, but there are a ton of properties in there. Is there a simple example somewhere to follow?
Hi- First, get the Flex Ant tasks at http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex_Ant_Tasks
Then, to set up your own ant builder, follow the docs at http://help.eclipse.org/stable/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.user/gettingStart ed/qs-81_basics.htm
Just keep in mind that the Flex Ant tasks operate independently of the compiler settings in Flex builder. So for example it won't automatically use the SDK you've set in the project or put the output in the bin-debug folder; you have to configure the ant builder with its own settings.
Hope that helps!
