Im Premiere Pro cs 5 user and not acomputer gig, buying laptop at the moment.
Im between laptops with this specyfication:
processor: i7-3630QM (2.4 GHz, 3.4 GHz Turbo, 6 MB Cache)
graphic card:nVidia Quadro K3000M
RAM 16 GB
SSD 128 GB
and the one with worse graphic card:
processor: i7-4702MQ (2.2 GHz, 3.2 GHz Turbo, 6 MB Cache)
graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
RAM: 16 GB
SSD: 128 GB
I would like to know how performance increase with better graphic card, in what situations/actions? - is it more during rendering or editing? I would like to buy cheaper laptop and Im wondering if the editing process would be acceptable? not slowing down terribly, I use footage from Canon 5D Mark II mostly
Hope my question is clear. Thank you for any help.
The performance difference is seen both on the timeline and when exporting. However the Timeline performance obviously effects the user experience more. The 2nd laptop 4702MQ is Haswell and I would suggest that over the Ivy unit. The GPU performance difference wont cover the difference between the Haswell and Ivy chips. Haswell is definitely the better way to go.
