    User Certificate Authentication Apache SSL

    dreynaud
When using certificate client authentication under Apache + mod_ssl, some ColdFusion CGI vars are always empty : CERT_SUBJECT,CERT_ISSUER,...

The ColdFusion 8 reference manual says : "These variables are available when running
Microsoft IIS 4.0 or Netscape Enterprise under SSL if your web server is configured to accept client certificates".

I have tried with Sun One Web Server (because it is the actual Netscape Enterprise and because Netscape Enterprise it very old and can only be installed on Windows NT4.....) : CGI vars are always empty.

Today, to play with ColdFusion in enterprise environnement it will be nececessary to have certificate authentication.

Is there a solution to authenticate users using certificates with ColdFusion ?
