Before you spend $2,500 on a camera, you might post computer information so someone can "guess" if you will be happy editing with your system
Also mention the type of video you record... sporting events, birthday parties, or ???
The computer has 8Gb Ram, 3.4Gh processor, 1T hard drive and 3T external drives. OS is Win 8.1. I can expand the Ram to 16Gb.
Type of recording is vacation travel turned into a DVD movie. Also sporting activity like analyzing my questionable golf swing.
It's up to you, if you really need broadcast quality and you have $2500 to spend.
An excellent AVCHD camcorder that shoots brilliant hi-def video can be had for under $500.
Steve I appreciate the input. If it is not out of line to ask-where do I look for "good enough"?
Virtually any Canon or Sony AVCHD camcorder will give you awesome results.
Depends on how much you want to spend.
I love my Canon Vixia HF series camcorder -- and it only cost me $200!
It's also perfect for things like vacation videos because its small and lightweight -- yet it produces gorgeous video.
The only feature I'd like to have is viewfinder, since looking at the LCD screen in bright sunlight can be a bit of a challenge. But I just love it.
Here's a similar model.
Here's a pricier, more professional version that includes a viewfinder.
And naturally you can go way up from there.
But for great looking vacation videos, either of these two will give you amazing results.
Thank you, much appreciated.
