Still not available, unbelievable oversight on Adobe's part, my "workaround" is tremendously time consuming. Which scripts have you found useful?
I use Footnotes to endnotes
I then create a new text frame to insert at the bottom of each page.
I set the Object Style for the text frame to be a specific column width (width of my margins)
The Object Style also sets the text to the Bottom of the Frame. And Applies a Rule Above to the first footnote (I need two Footnote styles (footnotes first & footnotes))
I then thread the footnotes back through the document.
I apply a style of Underline to the Footnote in the text - and set it to about 20pt - this gives a good indicator in the text where the footnote is.
I then manually position the text
Apply footnote first paragraph style to the first footnote in each frame.
Resize each frame.
Remove the Underline from the Footnote Number Style in the Text so it's not highlighted anymore.
Sounds long winded - but it works quite quickly for me.
many thanks Laubender, done
yeah, I'm using the karel scripts too, and tho they do the job well, it would be nice not to rely on scripts. A lot of my work goes out and is edited in InDesign by non-designers before returning to me for final tidying up, preparing for press etc. The need to use scripts causes huge headaches all around ....
but many thanks for the replies
